This original first drawing started in 1996 and will be never completed due to its nature. This drawing is the expression of an empirical drawing concept and in the same time a research in random patterns. Each element of this drawing does not have a specific purpose.
It is drawn there because its fits. But strangely, groups can represent specific things and the whole drawing can generates feelings or impressions to the viewer. This is my understanding of the conception of the world.
Based on the empirical concept developed in Genesis idea 1, this drawing explore the influence of shades on patterns. Drawing made with eye makeup and an eraser.
Romantic version of a picture of Sarah taken in France. Worked on face shading and lines
Inspired by the movie ambiance... I work on feminine hand, thin clothing behavior and plant realism. Worked specificaly on exact proportions.
Feminine profile, basic contour and shade exercise. I just like a lot this angle.
Fairly hard to work on, personal little challenge on light and shades.
Nice, evil like tortured hand... cool huh? with light coming from above.
Initial drawing for the "California" painting. Inspired by sarah looking at a sunset at point rays light house.
Initial drawing for the "Vision" painting. This one came out of my mind... I have no explanation...
Initial drawing for the "Rockway Ave" painting. Cartoonish sketch of the house in berkeley where Sarah and I lived in for a while.
This drawing was inspired from a freeway exchange I saw from a plan, I thought the shape was really special, so I captured the idea right there and then let my imagination enhance it.
This is a base concept, it is not fully developed yet but I feel I could move to a painting right away.
This is based on an actual picture of Jupiter, This is targeted for a painting. However, the color scheme will be very complex and will require a large time investment.(The ring will not be in the painting since Jupiter does no have any...)
This also will become a painting at some point but I don't find the drawing too exciting yet, I think the color scheme is what is going to give "life" to the painting
